In the wake of a medical emergency, 67-year-old Jack Brennan crashed his car after suffering a medical issue. He was then saved by a high school student. Brennan is an owner at JBR Contracting and is an alumnus of Monroe Community College.

On that particular morning, Leigha Walker, a student from Holley High School, was working at the Subway on Brockport-Spencerport Road at the time of a car crash that crashed into a pole outside.

Walker and three other workers performed CPR just in time to save Brennan’s life

“She broke the passenger window, opened it, and then performed CPR, the fire department came and had the AED, I believe it was twice. I don’t remember," Brennan said.

After Walker saved Brennan's life, he says he has kept in touch with her ever since. In June, the Holley School Board voted to recognize Walker for her efforts in saving the life of a student.

“It’s been a long recovery but it’s a good feeling getting back to normal, being able to do some things,” Brennan said.

The first responders have reunited with Brennan at the Brockport Fire Department. However, due to Leigha Walker’s work schedule, she was unable to attend the meeting.

“I called her my savior and my guardian angel," Brennan said.

Despite the hardships he endured, Brennan says he’s grateful for all the people who helped him.
