On this week's High School Football Game of the Week, the Spencerport Rangers improved their record to 5-1 on the season with a 28-7 victory over the Churchville-Chili Saints, who drop to 0-6 on the year. The Rangers were fueled by a strong defensive effort as well as over 100 yards on the ground from star running back Connor Mesh and a touchdown. As a result, Spencerport is still in the mix for the second overall seed in Class A, tied with four other schools at 5-1.
Next week is the final week of the regular season, where Spencerport will travel to Webster Thomas to take on the Titans, while the Saints will look for a win in their finale at home against Canandaigua.
The Point's Nate Shepard caught up with standout Spencerport receiver and kicker Jake Zimmerman following the game.
