When I first heard “Walking” by Pomo, I had no idea what to think about it. It’s a very strange song by someone I’ve never heard of nor could I find information on. Either way, I wasn’t sure I was a fan of this song.
I guess I’ll give the song credit that it does sound surreal and psychedelic, but it’s way too soft and quiet to the point where I tune out because the song just feels so boring. It felt more like muzak or elevator music than an actual song I would want to listen to.
The vocals also seemed to just drone on and on; the beginning of the song and throughout much of it is one singer softly singing the word “yeah” over and over. Once it finally gets to the lyrics, it already lost me due to the overly-repetitive chorus.
Other than that, I felt like I really had to reach to find something to talk about; this just felt like something you can put on in the background while you’re doing something else. To me, it just doesn’t feel like a song I would go out of my way to focus on.
