In the top of the fifth inning, shortstop Justin Pangburn hit an RBI single, driving in Voight from second. Two innings later, Pastore hit a two-run single up the middle, which brought home designated hitter Chris Martin and catcher Jason Mansell. This gave Brockport a 9-0 lead.
