Rookie Jack Quinn Joins Rochester Americans Roster from Sabres Practice Squad.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. --- Earlier Monday, the Sabres announced they had reassigned forwards Jean-Sebastien Dea and C.J. Smith from the Americans to their taxi squad. In the process, rookie forward Jack Quinn was reassigned to Rochester for the time being.

After being transferred to Rochester, Quinn hit the ice for his first practice in an Amerks uniform Monday afternoon and said it was a welcoming experience.

"It was pretty cool to get here this morning and everyone welcome me. And it was a high-paced practice, so it was really cool to jump into things pretty hard right away," Quinn said.

Meanwhile, Rochester head coach Seth Appert was excited to see the 8th overall pick in the 2020 NHL Draft on the ice today and said Quinn brings a lot to this Americans roster.

"We saw last year his scoring ability as he was one of the best scorers in the draft class. He is also a really good young man, really humble for how talented he is and he was really strong today."

It will hopefully be a game of firsts for Quinn as he looks to suit up for his first career professional hockey game when the Americans open their 65th season of AHL hockey against the Utica Comets on Friday at 7:05 p.m. from The Blue Cross Arena.
