BROCKPORT, NY-- The results for the 2024 election are in for New York. Many candidates were reelected to positions.
Democrat Kirsten Gillibrand was reelected to United States Senate receiving 58.4% of votes.
Democrat Joseph Morelle was reelected to the United States House of Representatives representing New York’s 25th Congressional District, which is Monroe County, with 56.8% of votes.
Judge Stacey Romeo won one of the two seats for District 7 of the State Supreme Court with 27.8% of the vote. The second seat is still contested between Erin Skinner and Ed White. Skinner and White are separated by about 2000 votes with about 96% of the vote counted.
Republican Claudia Tenney received 65.8% of votes, reelecting her to the United States House of Representatives representing New York’s 24th Congressional District, which includes Cayuga, Wayne, Oswego, Ontario, Jefferson, Livingston, Niagara, Genesee, Wyoming, Seneca, Yates and Orleans Counties.
Democrat Samra Brouk was reelected to the New York State Senate, representing district 55, with 62.5% of the vote.
Democrat Jeremy Cooney was reelected to the New York State Senate, representing district 56, with 55.1% of votes.
Republican Robert G. Ortt was reelected to the New York State Senate, representing district 62, after running unopposed.
Republican Brian D. Manktelow won the New York Assembly District 130 with 51.9% of votes.
Republican Andrea Bailey won the New York State Assembly 133rd District with 65% of votes.
Republican Josh Jensen was reelected to the New York State Assembly 134th District after running unopposed.
Democrat Jennifer Lunsford won the New York State Assembly 135th District with 58% of the vote.
"Healthcare is huge, particular for our seniors and people with developmental disabilities,” Lunsford said. “We are working with partners to find creative solutions for some of the limitations we through Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD). We are there for people, we are responsive, wea representing this district in a way that matters. We are delivering our promises and bringing home our fair share the tax money we paid to the state.”
Democrat Sarah Clark was reelected to the New York State Assembly 136th District with 67.2% of the vote.
Democrat Demond Meeks was reelected to the New York State Assembly 137th District with 71% of votes.
Democrat Harry Bronson was reelected to the New York State Assembly 138th District with 61% of votes.
“I believe every person, no matter who they are, has dignity and with that they deserve equity, justice and opportunities to succeed,” Bronson said.
Republican Stephen M. Hawley won the New York State Assembly District 139, running unopposed.
Democrat Jamie L. Romeo became County Clerk after receiving 57% of votes.
Republican Ricky Wright ran unopposed and became a member of the Hamlin Town Council.
Republican Scott Maar ran unopposed and became a member of the Sweden Town Council.
Ryan Lang became the Rush Town Justice after running unopposed.
Republican Brian Turner became the Wheatland Highway Superintendent after running unopposed.
Ella Marshall became the Family Court Judge after running unopposed.
Michael Ansaldi won the race for County Court Judge with 52% of votes.
