Losing streak extends to six as Brockport Hockey falls to SUNY Geneseo

BROCKPORT, N.Y. --- The SUNY Brockport Men's Ice Hockey team hosted the SUNY Geneseo Knights on Friday night which featured the annual Teddy Bear toss. The Golden Eagles came into the game on a five-game losing streak looking to change their fortunes against a banged-up Knights squad.


The Knights got the scoring started when sophomore forward Peter Morgan netted a goal with 10:20 left in the first period. Graduate Student Matthew Duran scored a goal 57 seconds into the second period to put the Knights up 2-0.


Knights junior forward Mitch Machlitt made it 3-0 when he added a goal at the 8:29 mark in the second period.

Graduate Student Alex Monteleone got the Golden Eagles on the board with a power play goal at the end of the second period to make the score 3-1. This would be the only goal of the game for the Golden Eagles.

The Knights would add one more goal after sophomore forward Stefan Miklakos scored on a power play with 15:19 left to play in the third period to make it 4-1. The Golden Eagles were unable to score and would lose 4-1.


The Golden Eagles now sit at 3-8 on the season and 2-6 in the conference. This was their sixth consecutive loss. The Golden Eagles will travel to Dudley, MA for the Nichols tournament on January 8th and 9th where they will try to get back in the win column.
