Golden Eagles Linebacker selected to the D3football.com Team of the Week

By: David Premyslovsky / Sports Writer Sophomore linebacker Nazhier Wilson was named to Sept. 15th's D3football.com Team of the Week of the 2026 Division III football season after he recorded 17 tackles and three quarterback hurries in Brockport's loss vs. Hobart on Saturday. Wilson is the first Golden Eagle to be named to the Team of the Week since K Zach McGowen in week nine of the 2025 season.

Fresh off being named the Empire 8 Rookie of the Year in 2025, Wilson opened the 2026 season with five tackles, including 1.5 for loss, in Brockport's 68-0 rout of Buffalo St. in the annual I-90 bowl. 

Against Hobart, Wilson led the Golden Eagles defense that gave up just 254 total yards on the day. Wilson's seven assisted tackles, 10 solo tackles, and 17 total tackles are all career highs.

Through two games this season, the sophomore linebacker has already recorded 22 total tackles, good for second in the Empire 8, and almost half of his 52 total tackles throughout the entire 2025 season. Wilson and the Golden Eagles look to get back on track this Saturday, September 19^th, as they host the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) Engineers on homecoming weekend in a rematch of last season's 30-24 overtime victory for the Engineers.
