The (8-10) SUNY Brockport Golden Eagles welcomed the (3-14-1) Fredonia State Blue Devils for the second time this week after beating them 6-1 on Tuesday. Tonight would be a very similar story as Brockport walked away with it late in a 5-2 win on Senior Day.

"If we play that way, we are a tough out against any team," head coach Brian Dickinson said.
In net for the Golden Eagles was Dax Easter who made his seventh start of the season. Easter was coming off of an Empire 8 Goaltender of the week award for his efforts against Manhattanville. As for the Blue Devils, they turned to Jameson Kaine who had only appeared in four games this season. The Vancouver native has been the backup to Charles-Anthony Barbeau this season, who got the day off after the loss to Buffalo State on Friday night.
For the Blue Devils, Luke Morris scored both goals in the loss with Cash Anderson picking up the lone assist. As for the Golden Eagles Kyle Kussman, Jacob Gates, Brody Seitz, Matthew Lee and Aidan Taylor all scored a goal. Kussman and Lee picked up two assists as well as Gates, Taylor, Manny Sanchez and Nick Reif picked up an assist.
Fredonia got the start that they dreamt of. Just eight seconds in to the contest a bad bounce from the wall behind Easter deflected right in front of him on the blade of Morris. Morris put it just under the top of the crossbar giving them the very early lead.
Four minutes later the Golden Eagles got their chance with more ice to work with. Brockport and Fredonia exchanged penalties to commence four-on-four which gave way for Aidan Taylor to have more ice to work with. Taylor walked the line from the near side boards firing a shot which went high blocker to knot the game even.
"We are dishing the puck around really well right now," sophomore forward Taylor said. "Keeping it simple and making smart plays has been the key for our special teams unit."
Morris continued to add his name to the score sheet about halfway through the first period. After some misplays on the puck in the defensive zone for Brockport, Anderson came away with a big steal to set up Morris on a one timer. Easter just missed on it, giving Fredonia another lead at 2-1.
The Golden Eagles went on the power play with just a couple minutes left which helped them tie it up. A seamless tic-tac-toe setup starting from Kussman to Taylor and ending with a wide open net for Lee to tie it up.

Both teams were held scoreless for the first 19 minutes and 59 seconds of the second period, but not for the last second. On the power play, Manny Sanchez threw a shot from the point which deflected off the stick of Seitz who was standing in front of Kaine. Initially what looked to be a period with no action, ended with Brockport taking a massive 3-2 lead.
After a slow start to the third period, Jacob Gates took the game into his own hands. After coming off of a huge steal on Cameron, Gates went out wide against two defenders with a windmill deke and fired a bullet beating Kaine on the low blocker to increase the lead to two goals.

The sixth power play of the night for Brockport would allow them to add to the scoresheet. Kussman walked down from the point and fired a rocket that beat Kaine on the blocker side to end the game 5-2.
The Golden Eagles improved their record to 9-10 and stick at fourth in the UCHC standings as they prepare for a back-to-back next week against Albertus Magnus on Friday and Saturday. As for Fredonia, they fall to 3-15-1 and look ahead to take on Skidmore next Friday.
