BROCKPORT, N.Y. --- The Brockport Golden Eagles women's lacrosse team dominated Nazareth in the Empire 8 conference tournament quarter finals. Brockport had three different goal scorers tally hat tricks which paved the way to an impressive 13-to-5 victory.
"We've been working through it all season and we really clicked today," Junior Hailey Lewkovich said. "It's something we've been emphasizing in practice, getting the looks... we played them not too long ago and we succeeded."

These two teams faced off on Wednesday, April 22, a game Brockport won 12-to-4.
Lewkovich, senior Amanda Evans and first-year Alivia Cross were the Golden Eagles with the hat tricks. Brockport had four other goal scorers and five individuals with multi-point efforts. Brockport's offense had their way throughout the game. They dominated time of possession and gave Nazareth fits in the transition game.
"Hustle and determination, we were determined to stay on ball and not give up and it gave us a lot of second chances on the offensive side of the ball," Senior Journey Naab said.

Nazareth's biggest problem falled in the little areas. Brockport dominated the draw control X and the ground ball battle. Brockport finished 14-of -19 on the draw and won the ground ball battle 25-to-9. Junior Tristan Davis took the draws all day for Brockport and dominated that area of play.
Brockport pulled away early. The Golden Eagles outscored Nazareth 5-to-2 in the second frame and entered the break up 8-to-3. The first half was fast paced and action backed. The Brockport defense which allowed just eight goals per game entering this contest, smothered Nazareth throughout.
"The defense was amazing, they challenge us every single day in practice and I think they're the best defense in the Empire 8, they showed out," Evans said.
The third quarter was a different story. The pace slowed down and the Golden Eagle's defense took over. Nazareth was shutout in the third frame, paired with two Brockport goals 10-to-3 advantage for the Golden Eagles, entering the final frame.
"Our offense is finally falling into place and our communication is amazing," Evans said

Brockport completed their dominant performance in the fourth as they outscored Nazareth 3-to-2 in the final 15 minutes of play. It was Brockport all the way in a game with a eerily similar result to the matchup between these teams on Earth Day.
Brockport will advance to the semi-final game where they will take on the Geneseo Knights on the road. Geneseo took care of business in the regular season matchup, 14-to-7 back on April, 1. The Golden Eagles will look to flip that scrpit to advance to the E-8 title game. The matchup is scheduled for Thursday, April 30, with a 4:00 p.m. first draw.
