GENESEO, N.Y. --- The Brockport Golden Eagles women's lacrosse team fell on the road against the Geneseo Knights. Geneseo controlled the game from start to finish en-route to a dominant 14-to-7 victory against their cross town rivals.

Geneseo opened their 2026 campaign 0-3 for the first time in the modern era dating back to 2004. First year head coach Julie Decker who is seventh all time in Brockport goal scoring got their season back on track against her alma mater. Geneseo entered the contest on a two game skid, while Brockport entered scorching hot, carrying a four game win streak.

Geneseo Junior attacker Natalie Long led the way offensively for the Knights. She put together a five goal outting, paired with an assist for a monsterous six point day. The Geneseo offense had five players with three or more points on the day.

Brockport struggled to generate any form of momentum throughout the game, quickly falling behind 9-to-4 at halftime.

"Communication was a big thing that we were lacking in the first half," Brockport Senior midfielder and captain Journey Naab said.

Brockport First-Year midfielder Alivia Cross put together an impressive four goal outing, which included a fourth quarter hat trick. She led a brief, last minute surge from the Golden Eagles. They pulled the game to within five with just under five minutes to play.

"She was awesome," Naab said. "She was being a really good team player, getting open, making the ball move and it opened up a lot of good looks for her."

Brockport Junior attacker Hailey Lewkovich, Naab and Junior attacker Tristan Davis each added goals of their own for Brockport. Lewkovich entered the game off a co-offensive player of the week award from the Empire 8 after she scored 14 goals in a three game spam prior to this contest.

"That was a good lesson and I think we learned from it," Naab said.

Brockport falls to 5-4 overall and 1-1 in Empire 8 play. Geneseo improves to 4-5 overall and 1-1 in Empire 8 play.

Brockport looks to rebound on Saturday April 4 on the road against SUNY Poly. First draw for that game is scheduled for noon. Geneseo takes on Russell Sage at home on Saturday April 4. First draw for that game is scheduled for 1 p.m.
