"Our seniors led the way," Brockport football head coach Paul Carella said. "This is the second team in Brockport history 77 years thats made a sectional final... we are pumped up about it."

Mason Scott threw for a touchdown pass connecting with Ayden Matthews. Tailback Ryan Miller punched the final touchdown in for Brockport. Payton Holtby had the lone Gray Wolves touchdown today that came with no seconds left which was thrown by Austin Kierst. On the defensive side Wesley Childs had an interception along with a pair of TFL's, Anthony Lana had a TFL, and Ryan Miller had a fumble recovery. Brockport kicker Brennan Parmele went 1/2 in extra points and 1/1 on field goal attempts.

Brockport got the scoring started in the second quarter. After Canandaigua quarterback Jack Clark fumbled, Miller recovered it in plus territory. On the ensuing drive, Mason Scott connected twice with Ayden Matthews one being for a 15 yard touchdown catch.

The Blue Devils had another drive going late in the first half. At first and goal however, the Canandaigua defense stood on its head forcing a turnover on downs, keeping it a 6-0 football game.

On the first drive for the Gray Wolves in the second half, they picked up a first down and looked to be moving the ball well. However on third down, Kierst tried hitting Cayden Gullace on a banana route which was deflected by defensive tackle Dylan Baxter and intercepted by the edge rusher Childs.

Brockport would add on to their lead lead in the third quarter. Ryan Miller took an inside zone carry in for his first touchdown of the game. Parmele would nail the PAT making it a 13-0 football game.

The Gray Wolves offense finally came alive late in the fourth quarter. After Kierst rifled a 30 yard strike to Gullace, it set up Jack Clark for a one yard rushing touchdown. After the extra point went in, it was now a one touchdown game at 13-7.

On that ensuing drive, Brockport would get some huge carries out of Miller. Miller took a stretch carry with blockers ahead running down into the red zone for Brockport. Parmele would notch the game winning field goal to make it a 16-7 game.

Canandaigua would add another touchdown with 0 seconds left on the clock. Kierst connected with Holtby on a fade route for a fantastic one handed grab touchdown to seal the game at 16-14.

"Everyday we get a little bit better," Carella said. "We do film, practice, weight room, every rep matters. Our guys do a good job at following that process, believing in the process and it will continue this week."

The Canandaigua Gray Wolves' season comes to an end a year after they beat the Blue Devils in the semifinals. The Brockport Blue Devils will take on East High School on Saturday at Bob Boozer field at 5 p.m.
