The game would begin with a defensive stalemate with many opportunities but no pucks in the back of the net. Both Rochester and Laval served penalties in the first period but were both not able to capitalize on the man advantage.
After the first 20 minutes of regulation, Rochester and Laval were deadlocked on the scoreboard at zero with the Amerks leading in shots on goal 15-8.

Just when you think you can blink for a moment, Laval scored once again and this time from winger Filip Mešár. it was Mešár's fourth goal of the season and he was assisted by William Trudeau and Tobie Bisson. The Rocket now led 2-0.
Sometimes when it rains, it pours because the Rocket would find the back of the net again. This was Laval's third goal in the last minute and 54 seconds. The goal went to forward Sean Farrell and assists were scored to Jared Davidson and Adam Engström. The Rocket now took a commanding 3-0 lead over the Amerks with 16:39 remaining in the second period.
Rochester would shortly answer right back to cut the deficient to two thanks to a goal from Defenseman Zac Jones. It was Jones's third goal of the season and assists were credited to Isaac Belliveau and Riley Fiddler-Schultz. The Amerks now trailed 3-1 with 15:39 to go in the second.

It was Rosén' s 15th goal of the season and assists were credited to Konsta Helenius and Zac Jones. The Amerks now trailed 3-2 with 4:39 remaining in the third period.

With the clock dwindling down to the final seconds in the third period Rochester with the empty net and extra attacker tried for one more push in the Laval zone but came up just short and the Rocket held on for the 3-2 victory.
"I thought we played a tremendous game outside of three minutes" said Amerks defenseman Zac Jones. "It's just sometimes about learning to play the right way"
The Amerks next contest is this Sunday as they will travel out to Belleville to take on the Senators at 3 p.m. With the loss, Rochester's record now sits at 17-12-3-1 on the season and remains in fourth place in the North division.
