The Brockport Golden Eagles were down 23 before Freddy June started off the scoring late in the second quarter.
Then the comeback began.
In one of the wildest games in recent memory, Brockport stunned the #18 ranked Cortland Red Dragons 32-26 in overtime, thanks to a Jason Hellwig 11-yard touchdown run. We spoke with the senior quarterback on the final play of the game.
The win gives Brockport the lead in the Empire 8 standings as they have two games to go. A win in any of those games would clinch at least a share of the Empire 8 title and a trip to the NCAA Tournament for the third year in a row.
