Churchville man identified as Adirondacks drowning victim

New York State Police have identified the victim of an Adirondacks drowning as Churchville man Scott J. Karlnoski.

 

Karlnoski was found unconscious after reportedly jumping into the pool base at Buttermilk Falls in Long Lake, N.Y. on Saturday, Jul 28. According to officials, he was observed swimming after jumping in, then disappeared. He was found approximately five minutes after vanishing in nearby shallow rapids.

 

After attempting CPR and life saving measures, Karlnoski was pronounced dead. The 43 year old was vacationing with his family at Forked Lake Campground. Autopsy date and time remain pending.
