I chose to review Daya’s album “Sit Still, Look Pretty”. This is her debut album that has all of her songs from her EP on it. Daya has an amazing voice and really is an artist who is going to be selling out stadiums one day. One of my all time favorite songs from her on this album is “Sit Still, Look Pretty”. This song is so catchy and I think that is partly why I loved the song the first time I heard it on the radio. Some of my favorite lyrics from this song are “Oh, I don't know what you've been told But this gal right here's gonna rule the world Yeah, that is where I'm gonna be because I wanna be No, I don't wanna sit still, look pretty”. These lyrics stand out to me because she is talking about ruling the world and being her own person and that means a lot for future generations of women. Another one of my favorite songs of hers on this album is “Hide Away”. I found about this song on the radio because it was played many times. This song is one of my favorites because once again Daya is speaking about issues that are so important through her songs. I think these lyrics are so important and really make her music that much more influential. “Boys seem to like the girls who laugh at anything The ones who get undressed before the second date Girls seem to like the boys who don't appreciate All the money and the time that it takes To be fly as a mother”. As shown in two of my favorite songs from her she is speaking and singing about issues that are so important to be heard about especially coming from a eighteen year old. Lastly, another song that I like by her on this album is called “Legendary”. This song has a really cool beat going into it, which makes it such a cool sounding song. Overall, this album is such a great album. I am really happy I came across Daya on the radio because her voice and vocals are really unreal. She has such a strong voice that makes her music so awesome. Being only eighteen years old, Daya has a bright future ahead of her with many sold out shows and albums to come. I give this album five stars out of five.
