With Buddy Boeheim out of Thursday's game due to contact tracing because of COVID-19, Syracuse needed someone to step up. And sophomore forward Quincy Guerrier did just that, recording 23 points and 13 rebounds as the Orange defeated the Niagara Purple Eagles 75-45 on Thursday night from the Carrier Dome.

Syracuse dominated the stat sheet, as they outrebounded Niagara 51-31 and had 40 points in the paint compared to 22 for the Purple Eagles.

Two other Orangemen had double figures as Kadray Richmond had 16 while Alan Griffin had 10.

Niagara's Marcus Hammond led the Purple Eagles with eight points and ten rebounds.
