In perfect time for the holiday season, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello just released a new rendition of a classic Christmas carol. As a part of his Wonder (Holiday Deluxe) album, Shawn included the song, “The Christmas Song”, and it is definitely a new favorite.
“The Christmas Song” starts with a beautiful orchestra introduction that then quiets into a gentle piano accompaniment. Shawn begins with the opening verse and then Camila leads the second. Afterwards the two join together for the rest of the song bouncing between layered harmonies and dueted verses. Throughout the song, the melody swells and softens adding orchestra influences as the song progresses adding dynamic interest to an elegant and romantic classic.
Although this is a new rendition to an old song, it still has beautiful originality with the incredible vocals of both artists. This song contained the same lyrics as the original and the same style, however this could easily become a new favorite for any fan of Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello that wants to get into the holiday spirit.
