Song Review: "Beautiful Desperation" by Goldpark

Goldpark is an alt-rock trio out of Nashville who just released a new song called “Beautiful Desperation”. This is my first time hearing of this group, but boy am I glad I did.

“Beautiful Desperation” is an upbeat alternative rock tune with a positive message of shining bright in dark times. The song includes lyrics such as “Won’t you shine your light on me?” and “Feel the sunlight through the pain”. This means that even when the going gets tough, find a way to feel some happiness and positivity through it all.

The band says in this song “All these questions/that I’m asking they never give me clarity...Won’t you shine your light on me?” It’s a line that lots of people can relate to considering that this is such an unprecedented time in the world.

The band wanted to write music with this message in mind, considering all of the chaos in the world this past year. The band’s experiences with performing live and experimenting with their music on the roads was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But like many other musical artists, it only inspired them to create even more quality content.

Goldpark is not a very well known band, but they ought to be for this song. It has been added to my personal playlist, and here’s to hoping that they will start to see live audiences in front of them this year or next. They deserve it, for sure.
