BROCKPORT, N.Y. - I am sure everyone has heard rumblings about warm weather in our near future. Temperatures in the 40s and a dry sky on Friday will bring us a bout of spring fever. However, it's going to be a little bit of time before we see our much-anticipated warmup.

After a mild Friday, clouds will build in through the evening ahead of a cold front. This cold front will bring some wind overnight changing from the southwest to northwest that may gust between 30 to 40 mph. It will be possible to see some gusts near 45 to 50 mph at times, especially off Lake Erie into Erie County, Genesee County, Orleans County, and western Monroe County. These gusts will die down rather quickly Saturday morning. As for the precipitation part of this cold front, temperatures will be above freezing early Saturday morning. This will support a line of rain showers as the primary front moves through in the morning. As cold air starts to move in behind the front, some trailing snow showers and mixed precipitation will also be possible through the later morning and afternoon. Snowfall amounts will stay insignificant, at a trace. One thing to be aware of on Saturday - temperatures will drop below-freezing after the rain moves through. This could cause slick conditions on untreated, less-traveled roads into the afternoon and evening on Saturday.

Temperatures significantly drop overnight Saturday with lows around 20 degrees which will start our short bout of cold air lasting through Monday. Sunday highs will only reach near 25 degrees with feel-like temperatures in the low-teens. A small, quick system to our south will bring widespread snow Sunday, starting in the morning and lasting into the evening. This system will drop between 3 to 5 inches for most of the greater Rochester region, including Brockport, by Sunday night/early Monday morning.

Looking ahead, Monday will stay chilly with highs in the mid-20s. However, the rest of the week stays in the 30s and 40s with even milder temperatures to lead into next weekend!
