It was not enough though as Elmira caught fire in the fourth outscoring the Golden Eagles by 13 for a 77-71 upset victory.
Brockport was down 41-31 at the start of the third, but started on a 6-2 run to cut the lead to four right away thanks to an and-one from forward Claire Turner and a three-pointer from junior Brianna Carey. The Golden Eagles rode momentum from there as Brockport went on another 12-4 run to take a 53-50 lead midway through the third.
Brockport won the quarter 32-15 while shooting 12-19 from the field to take a seven-point lead at the end of the third. Five different Golden Eagles put points on the board in the third as senior Mandy Brink netted 13 of her team-high 18 points in the quarter to lead the way.

Six different Soaring Eagles scored in the quarter and even with their two highest points per game scorers fouling out before the midway point, Elmira won the fourth 21-8.
With the two highest scorers fouling out, Elmira looked to the Mansfield transfer Lauren Miller and she showed up. The junior guard finished with a game-high 21 points knocking down six threes along the way.
