BROCKPORT, N.Y. --- The (2-2) Brockport Blue Devils hosted the (4-0) Batavia Blue Devils for their annual homecoming game this year, making it a bowl of the Blue Devils. Brockport in the end in front of their homecoming crowd was able to stun the formerly undefeated Batavia Blue Devils 27-6.

"We were in film and everyone was locked in, nobody was on their phones," Brockport running back Wesley Childs said. "We were ready to prepare for this team and this challenge for homecoming."
Brockport quarterback Mason Scott had a great day throwing the football as he connected with Anthony Lana and Hunter Moore for touchdowns. Running backs Ryan Miller and Wesley Childs made up the two-headed monster backfield each having a touchdown to their name. Running back Nolan Ball had the lone touchdown for Batavia which was on a kickoff return touchdown. Ayden Matthews and Landon Dauphinee logged interceptions for the Brockport Blue Devils and Dylan Fitzgerald had a fumble recovery.
Batavia had five personal fouls today which resulted in over 75 yards in penalties. Batavia RB/LB Maggio Buchholz would be ejected from the game in the second half.
"It comes down to practice everyday," Brockport head coach Paul Carella said. "We had a big challenge and our guys responded to it, proud of our coaches, super proud of our kids for responding."
The first quarter saw three turnovers with Brockport having two fumbles lost and Batavia having a bad snap on a punt attempt which saw Brockport take over at Batavia's 13 yard line.
The scoring began in the second quarter where after a long drive from Brockport, Mason Scott was able to find his tight end Lana on a zig route for a touchdown. After Brennan Parmele knocked the extra point through, it made it 7-0 Brockport.
Not even a play later, the Batavia Blue Devils responded. Ball received the kickoff right around the 30 yard line with some blockers setting up in front. He was able to make a man miss running up the inside, utilizing his running back speed he outran the entire special teams unit to get Batavia on the board. After a failed two-point conversion though it kept Brockport up 1.
Brockport got the ball back at the 40 yard line, and after a few plays Mason Scott went deep down the field to find his man Matthews for a 45 yard completion setting up Brockport in the red zone. Miller would cap the drive off with a rushing touchdown to give Brockport a 14-6 lead going into half.
After a couple of three and outs from both teams the Brockport Blue Devils struck again. After a big run from Childs, it set up Scott in red zone territory where he found his man Moore streaking up the endzone. A beautiful throw between tight coverage put Brockport up 21-6 over Batavia.

Brockport would end the scoring with one more touchdown early on in the fourth quarter with a hand-off to Childs who plowed his way in to make it a 27-6 game.
"I've taught these kids in school since they have been in sixth grade, I have known some of these kids since they were babies," Carella said. "It's fun to see these guys grow up and mature, I really like my team."
