Gender based violence is the abuse of someone because of their gender. It can happen to either men or women and take many shapes and forms. It does not have to be a romantic relationship, it can take place in a friendship.

At The Point, we believe that more attention needs to be drawn to this issue, as an estimated one in three woman have been effected by gender based violence, and one in nine for men. We are airing one part of a fourteen part series every Monday and Tuesday that goes in depth on this issue and how to help yourself and the people you love.
