Flume: Skin

★★★★☆ Flume has always been one of my favorite artists, with his electro-pop style of music. In this album his first song Helix begins quiet then slowly begins to pick up. It never fully does, it continues to build and then abruptly stops, before continuing on to a new style in the song, which builds in itself. The second build seems more organic to me and ends up dropping and wrapping up the end of the song. Never Be Like You is one of my favorite songs currently and is the next song on the album. This song was released as a single and did great on the charts. Kai, the featured singer, compliments Flume’s music so well and I am obsessed with the chorus and beat of this song. Lose It featuri

Misgiver: Cruelty of Life EP

★★★☆☆ Alright guys, this week I'm taking it local. Misgiver, a hardcore band from Elmira NY, has only existed since 2014 but they have used that time to make a name for themselves. I saw them live last month and they were the most brutal band of the night. Their new release starts off with the rowdy "607", which is an allusion to their hometown. This a purely instrumental track that serves to build tension for the music to come. Tunnel vision has a long intro but again, its about building the suspense. When the lyrics do begin they are brutal, and throughout the song the guitar shreds are intense. A lot is packed into two minutes with this one. Next up is "Short End" another roughly two minu
